Race livery design that survives scrutineering

Designing a race livery isn't like designing a van wrap. The canvas moves at 140mph, the regulations dictate where numbers, sponsors and windscreen banners must sit, and the whole thing has to read clearly in a half-second television shot.
We've produced liveries for everything from club-level Ginettas to full championship campaigns, and the same lessons keep coming up. Sponsor logos need hierarchy decided before design starts — not after. Number panels need to sit on flat, predictable surfaces. And every design needs checking against the series regulations before a single metre of film is printed.
Colour is another trap. What looks vivid on screen can go muddy under overcast circuit lighting, and certain vinyl finishes behave very differently in direct sun versus floodlights. We proof colours physically, on the actual film, before committing to a full print run.
The best liveries we've worked on share one thing: the team involved production early. When design and manufacture are one conversation instead of two handoffs, nothing gets lost between the render and the grid.
